Steven Hawkins
CEO
Steven Hawkins is the Founder and CEO of LongPoint ETFs and is responsible for the day-to-day business and affairs of the firm. He has almost 30 years of experience in the investment industry.

Mr. Hawkins was the President and CEO of Horizons ETFs Management (Canada) Inc from 1995 to 2022 and was in part responsible for the proliferation of ETFs in Canada bringing many first-of-their-kind ETFs to market. He spearheaded the launch of the world’s first marijuana ETF, the world’s first global equity ETF driven by artificial intelligence and Canada’s first robotics and automation ETF. As an innovative ETF thought leader and highly regarded ETF and capital markets expert, he is frequently quoted in the news media and was recognized as CEO of the Year at the 2018 and 2022 Wealth Professional Awards. Mr. Hawkins studied mathematics and philosophy at the University of Toronto and holds a Derivative Market Specialist (DMS) designation.
Myron Genyk
COO & CFO
Myron Genyk is the COO & CFO of LongPoint ETFs and is responsible for the ongoing operations of the firm. Myron founded and was CEO of Evermore Capital Inc., which launched Canada’s first target date retirement ETFs.  Prior to Evermore, Myron was at BlackRock Canada, where he was responsible for overseeing primary and secondary ETF markets, improving ETF liquidity, and helping source best execution for clients.  Myron spent over 10 years at National Bank of Canada as a structurer, trader, and salesperson on the derivatives desk. Myron holds an Honours B.Sc. from the University of Toronto, an M.A. in Applied Statistics, and a Graduate Diploma in Financial Engineering from York University. Myron holds the FRM designation and he is a CFA charterholder.
Mark Raes
CPO
Mark Raes is the CPO of LongPoint ETFs and is responsible for the product shelf of the firm. Mark has over 20 years of experience in the global ETF industry, working for industry-leading providers. Mark was Head of Product at BMO GAM responsible for Canadian ETFs, mutual funds and pooled funds, while supporting international ETFs. He led the expansion of BMO's ETF line up of passive and active ETFs across asset classes and geographies, including many notable ETFs. He also oversaw the development of BMO's industry-leading mutual funds of ETFs program. Mark was an ETF portfolio manager, and has developed operational expertise in the ETF market. Mark holds an MBA from York University.
About LongPoint and its significance
The name LongPoint is derived from a cherished location in Canada, specifically the Long Point Lighthouse, which is situated on Twillingate Island in Newfoundland. This lighthouse holds personal significance to Steve as it represents not only a geographical landmark but also a connection to family heritage.
Family Roots in Twillingate
Steve comes from a large family with deep roots that trace back several generations to Twillingate. This familial connection emphasizes the importance of place and heritage, as it suggests a long-standing relationship with the island and its community.
Annual Visits and Activities
Every summer, Steve travels to Twillingate to reconnect with family members and engage in various activities that highlight the natural beauty and cultural richness of the area. The activities mentioned include:

1. Hiking: The region is known for its stunning landscapes, making it an ideal location for hiking enthusiasts.
2. Cod Fishing: Engaging in cod fishing, referred to as “jigg’n” in local vernacular, showcases traditional fishing practices that are integral to the culture of Newfoundland.
